William F. Montgomery

 

About Dr. Montgomery

William F. Montgomery is a composer based out of Idaho. He holds a Ph.D. in Music Composition from Louisiana State University, and has studied composition in Paris, France. His music has been performed in Asia, Europe, and North America, and his works have won numerous competitions. William is interested in social justice pieces, pure art music, and has experience in writing for nearly every ensemble with or without electronics. He is also an inventor of new instruments including a zen garden that reacts to the pressure and friction of the rake as well as a cigar box-guitar that can play itself. William is excited to work with any new ensemble on a piece specifically for them. William also co-hosts a podcast called The Sounds of the World that can be heard on your favorite streaming service.
